Dav Down Under

Ive set up this blog site so you can see what im up to, where i am and meet the people ive met. Currently travelling through Southeast Asia. Had an amazing time last year travelling Australias East coast, working here and there to fund the partying! Shall be home to sunny Scotland early May, with debts to pay and tales to tell! I will try to keep the blog updated as much as possible. Feel free to comment on my pictures, as i will get back to you. Please enjoy! Dav

Hey, so goodbye Australia. Thats me landed safe and sound in Singapore.

From what the taxi drivers have told us its the safest place in the world. But its does seem very friendly. We booked a hotel from the Airport, and when we told the taxi driver where to go he told us it was "very dangerous. I dont think you should go there. That place is full of gangsters, prostitutes, criminal and drugs." We were not exactly excited at the prospect, but ploughed on regardless. Turns out it was a decent enough hotel, and no signs of problems. A bit weird, but im sure not the first or last time i will spend a night in a dodgy area of the world.

Chinese New Years celebrations are on at the moment, so lots of atmosphere to enjoy. Weird not seeing many white faces, but i like it. Thats why im here after all. We have all met up, (the Irish and ourselves), in same hostel, (hostel standards so far have been impressive), so all is good.

Will post more later along with decent photos of my first day in Southeast Asia. Just wanted to let you know i am safe.

David.
