Hello all who read this drivel!!

Hello all.

In Phuket at the moment. Nice enough, but really seedy. Old men with young girls and boys. Not nice at all. Leave in a few days, so will be happy to see some more of Thailand. Langkawi Island in Malaysia was amazing. Such a beautiful place, a real paradise. Went go karting, which was fun, and hired a car to visit places. The weather has been brilliant, and the beer is alot cheaper!!!

Bit of craic last night. Got blind drunk on whiskey, only cost about 10 quid, and had a right laugh. Deco managed to smash the glass front door of the hotel, so that caused a bit of a scene!!! Cost him 8000 baht to pay for the damage!!!! Lucky he didnt go to jail.

So we leave in a day or so, then its to the east of Thailand for the rest of February and start of March. Full moon party to look forward to, so will have to get the drinking exercises sorted!! Ha Ha.

Will put photos up soon, forgot the cable today!!!

Hope all is well. Davido Galliano

Hey, so goodbye Australia. Thats me landed safe and sound in Singapore.

From what the taxi drivers have told us its the safest place in the world. But its does seem very friendly. We booked a hotel from the Airport, and when we told the taxi driver where to go he told us it was "very dangerous. I dont think you should go there. That place is full of gangsters, prostitutes, criminal and drugs." We were not exactly excited at the prospect, but ploughed on regardless. Turns out it was a decent enough hotel, and no signs of problems. A bit weird, but im sure not the first or last time i will spend a night in a dodgy area of the world.

Chinese New Years celebrations are on at the moment, so lots of atmosphere to enjoy. Weird not seeing many white faces, but i like it. Thats why im here after all. We have all met up, (the Irish and ourselves), in same hostel, (hostel standards so far have been impressive), so all is good.

Will post more later along with decent photos of my first day in Southeast Asia. Just wanted to let you know i am safe.

David.

So a week and a half to go, before we leave Australia for good. No change of plans to report, so that will keep the family happy!!

Living pretty quiet at the moment. Working alot, painting, refurb, which is keeping us busy and earning us the beer tokens for Asia. Really looking forward to Asia, its gonna be such a culture shock, but what a oppertunity to see some of the real world, not this false, corporate, material western world we all adore. Such an array of things to do and explore, i honestly cannot wait.

Speaking of Asia, was surpried to hear from Neil the other evening. Long story short, he is leaving Australia in two days for Thailand. Katie and himself have had enough, so are travelling SE Asia for two months, coming back to Australia for three weeks, then off to Canada for two weeks and gets back to Scotland roughly the same time as us!!!! Crazy set up. Shame he is only really using four months of there extra years visa, which took them three months fruit picking to obtain!!! Maybe meet up in Asia, but with time, communication, etc, the way it is, we shall see.

So not long now, then its emails and blogs to keep in tough. Hope all is well where ever you are. D x
